Discover Florence by Foot (2.5 hours)
This unique program is a must for those of you who want to "get local" and see the city streets as the Florentines do. The program starts in the Market area of Florence made famous by the Medicean Chapels and the Basilica di S. Lorenzo. After in depth descriptions and introductions continue on to the Piazza del Duomo where you will have a visit of the inside of the grand Cathedral* and the famous dome by Brunelleschi. Afterward see the Bell Tower by Giotto, Saint John Bapistery with its Paradise Door. Continue at a leisurely pace for the Medieval area of the city which was the home of Dante Aligheieri. A walk through the Palazzo del Bargello and the famous open air sculpture museum in the Piazza della Signoria. On to the Uffizi gallery courtyard and on to the straw market of Mercato della Paglia. Last but not least visit one of the most beautyfull sites in the world; the street of gold called Ponte Vecchio. The tour will end at the beautiful Pitti Palace.

Classical Rome
An itinerary by coach and on foot. Crossing Piazza della Repubblica with the Fountain of the Nayads, the local guide will take you on a pleasant stroll through the historical center where you can admire the Trevi Fountain, Marco Aurelius' Column , Palazzo Montecitorio designed by Bernini, the Pantheon (inside), Palazzo Madama (seat of the Senate) and Piazza Navona. Passing alongside St Angel's Castle the coach will take you to St Peter's Basilica (inside visit except when religious celebrations take place), where you can admire one of Michelangelo's magnificent works of art - "La Piet". Return to the hotel
Imperial Rome
Arriving at Piazza Venezia with its impressive monument dedicated to King Victor Emanuel II and the unknown soldier you continue on foot to the famous Piazza del Campidoglio designed by Michelangelo from where you will have a great view of the Roman Forum. The coach will then continue to view the Circus Maximus and the Pyramid of Caius Cestius before arriving at the Basilica of St. Paul outside the Walls (inside)*. The tour will be completed with a stop at the imposing Coliseum. Return to the hotel.
Vatican Museums
Morning except on Sundays and Religious Holidays
The tour begins passing through Piazza della Repubblica with the Fountain of the Nayads and following the Ancient Aurelian Walls which once surrounded the ancient city. On route you will see the famous Villa Borghese and the northern gate of the ancient city leading into Piazza del Popolo where you will see an Egyptian Obelisk dating back to the time of Ramses II. The guide will then lead you into the Vatican Museums taking the beautiful Spiral Staircase. Continuing through the Gallery of the Tapestries with its magnificent fresco of the Last Judgment by Michelangelo. Return to the hotel.
Tivoli
Every day except Monday.
Pick up from your hotel and transport back in time to the ancient town of Tivoli . Famous for its great monuments, the Villa d'Este and the Villa Adriana (Hadrian's Villa), Tivoli is one of the most popular Rome excursions. Tivoli is situated on the Aniene river to the east of Rome , in the Monti Tiburtini hills where the climate is fresher than Rome 's. For this reason, the area was popular from ancient times onwards with Roman nobles, who would build summer retreats here. As the town was on a major trading route from Rome to the Abruzzi , Tivoli has always been an important settlement. The fourth century BC town wall is still visible, as are temples from the second century BC. Visit to the fountains, monuments, villas and return to hotel.
Ancient Ostia
Wednesday and Friday Morning
The ancient Roman city of Ostia was in antiquity situated at the mouth of the river Tiber, some 30 kilometers to the west of Rome . Your visit to Ostia Antica itself starts at `Via delle Tombe' which leads you to the `Porta Romana', one of the city's three gates. This is the beginning of the `Decumanus Maximus', the main thoroughfare that crosses the city from north east to south west. Then you will arrive at the `Terme di Nettuno' where you can admire the beautiful black and white mosaics representing Neptune and Amphitrite, the theatre built by Agrippa and the Forum which formed the centre of the city. Here you will discover the principle public buildings, `Il Capitolium' and the temple of Rome and Augustus, the Basilica and the large thermal baths. Near the forum square you will also find the House of Diana and the `Thermopolium' an ancient Roman bar with a marble counter and a fresco depicting the fruit and foodstuffs that were sold there. At the end of Via dei Dipinti, the Museo Ostiense displays some of the ancient sculptures and mosaics found among the ruins. Return to hotel.
Illuminated Rome
7.00 pm Every Evening except Dec. 24th and Dec. 31st. This tour is the same itinerary as Tour 1 Classical Rome, but it is done at night where the great monuments of the city are illuminated. A fascinating and romantic tour.
Rome by Night with Dinner
Every evening except Dec. 24th and Dec. 31st. This tour is the same as Tour 10 but includes a multi course dinner in a local restaurant. Very romantic!
Naples and Pompeii (full day)
Every day except Dec. 25th and Jan. 1st. A full day of sightseeing await you. Travel back in time to the ruins of Pompeii where you will be guided throughout the ruins. On the way back to Rome experience the city of Naples by coach. Return to your hotel in the early evening
Assisi & Orvieto (full day)
Monday, Thursday, Saturday - From Apr 1st to Oct 31st. Enjoy a full day of sightseeing to the ancient towns of Assisi in Umbria and Orvieto. Visit both towns with your English speaking guide. Plenty of free time for exploring and shopping. A great way to see these far away towns without the hassle.
