The most celebrated festival in Tuscany is The Palio which takes place twice a year; July 2nd and August 16th. The race is amazing, full of color, life and the thrill of competition! The race takes place in the famous Piazza del Campo, a 12th century shell-shaped area decorated by statues. The bareback horse race represents 17 local districts in the area, each with their own unique colors, flags, and people. The race only lasts 90 seconds, but your memories will last a lifetime!
