We all loved the hotel in Venice.  The woman and her husband who ran the hotel were wonderful, and we loved to get up in the morning and watch the gondolas go past our hotel. We liked our hotel in Rome as well....the people there were very helpful.  We LOVED being gladiators, that was SO much fun.  This was a definite highlight for all of us.  All of the guides were great...they all knew a tremendous amount and were just wonderful.  They definitely made a big difference! I can't say enough about the experience. It was a small group and we had a most extraordinary time. Rem Malloy was our escort and is such a great traveling companion. All of the accommodations were first class and the restaurants Rem introduced us to were excellent. They were not the "touristy" type places but the quaint, authentic places, where you would find the locals. We met great people and have become close friends with a couple we met on the tour.
